Before anything, I'm very lucky to have such an awesome team and friends. They are making this little set back feel almost pleasant with the amount of help and kind words they've shared with me.
One day after and I'm beat up good, but still okay. Looks like I have a deep bruise on my forearm, swelling on my shoulder, bruised ribs, but the black eye I was expecting never came ![]() It's looking like I will be dealing with their home insurance. They gave me a call yesterday but I was waiting for a call from my lawyer. I guess I'm taking it okay but I am actively working on getting my bike replaced. Things like that happen when basic bike path etiquette is an afterthought. You just can't ride as a group taking up both lanes and expect to be safe. As for the people in the tunnels, oh man... I've had that happen too the Whittier tunnel on the SGRT is one of the worst. |

Glad you seem to be ok, ohm. Keep an eye on that bruised forearm and the swollen shoulder. Ice, my friend, is your friend.
Another hour of trainer love. Today was high cadence, low intensity. |

Our recovery ride.
The map & stats ought to reflect the wind & gusts that nearly blew us off the roads a time or three. Still, it was fun to get out and ride and enjoy the country.

A modest ride, no helmet, no gloves, no wanting to ride in the rain....

NOT a fun ride today...well the actualy ride was fun, but the ride from my house to the start of the ride was not fun.
3 flats in less than 7 miles. Had one spare tube, good thing I brought some patches with me. http://app.strava.com/rides/6268272 http://app.strava.com/runs/6268270 Combined stats of the rides: 27.8 miles 2281 ft elevation gain Was feeling pretty tired today. My knees have been hurting for some reason on the last couple rides. Took it easy.... I was planning to ride tomorrow, but I think it is best to take the day off and do a longer ride with a lot of climbing on Saturday. |

I have noticed when I start to get a lot of flats my tires are due for replacement. I hate flats. Sounds like you were prepared though. Good work there.

The tire still has life left in it. I was just unlucky: Ran over a thick staple, a long nail, and I think the last was a pinch flat. Good thing I took some patches with me!
