Squeezed in 39 min. on the trainer this morning before a meeting and felt great.
Day 10 of #30daysofbiking in the books. I'm happy to have found some creativity with bike riding...not every ride needs to be a hammerfest, or epic, to be fun.

Six miles of warm-up, ten miles of TT. It was brutal. 55F and dropping fast once the sun began to sink, with an icy Canadian wind that must have been steady over more than half the tri-oval track at 15mph with gusts to 20+mph. Don't know what the wind-chill was, but it was c-c-cold out there! After warm-up, wore only ss jersey, shorts, low-cut socks, and half-gloves. Mouth was frozen by the finish, lungs dried out from the wind forcing low-humidity air down my trachea, snot crusted my lower face from the cold. Felt GREAT!
![]() Managed to finish in 33:30 for an average of around 17.8mph. Didn't ride at redline because I thought the wind might get worse, but it only held steady, and so I slowly creeped the speed up for a negative split, and still had 14bpm to give to get to my usual ss TT HR, so I know I could have done it a little faster. ![]() Yet, overall, very pleased, given the conditions and the fact that I only started training again a month ago. This was also my first outdoor ride since July 10 last year, and it felt strange yet really good. ![]() |

Good job, VV!
![]() ![]() In contrast, I pedaled my bike on the trainer tonight for 15 min., because that's all the time I could spare. . At least I pedaled.

Managed a productive 43 min. trainer ride today, while passing storms produced hail, thunder, lightning, and punishing rain. I appreciated the power of said storms from the protection of my garage. I hope to be on dry roads tomorrow and Sunday, and beyond.

I left from The Commons in Calabasas with two others and rode Mulholland Highway to PCH. Then I turned around and rode it back. We had strong cool head winds for all of the 32 outbound miles. Yes, we got some tail wind coming back but I never felt like I was getting my full pay back. I guess all the climbing equalized it.
Today was the Mulholland Challenge so we mixed it up good with all those riders. I have to hand it to all of those riders doing the century or double century. That is one hard ride and all of them were working to make it happen. I was happy to see several SAG vehicles. I like events that really support the riders on the road. Even if you do not need them it is uplifting to know they are around. 63.7 miles; 6,401 feet

I slept all day because I called got into work last night at 9pm, got off at 7am. Therefore missing Mulholland and wasting my $80, sweet.
I guess I'll have to do something big tomorrow. |

Look at it this way. You made more money than $80 so you are ahead. There will be other days and other rides.
