was light mist yesterday along the coast down here which helps keeps it bit tacky. But when hot it doesn't dust up much like other trails. Mix of clay dirt there and great mix of climbing and single tracks without long climbs, mostly power up climbs which are better for me anyways

I don't plan on doing Idyllwild. I'm hoping to be OK for June's 12hr race and much closer.

Quite excited for the MTB Gran Fondo event on Catalina this weekend. Looks like perfect weather for some trails not normally open to the public. Should be some spectacular panoramas.

Catalina event was pretty sweet. Great views, Buffalo, in and out of micro-climates (overall perfect weather), no smog. 99% of the course was very non-technical, but several extremely steep sections made it quite a challenging 50 miles. Kind of a pricey event when you add it all up, but if you are wanting to see Catalina anyway, this is definitely the way to do it.

Very nice pic! Wish there were trail like that around here (albeit without quite so much climbing), so a n00b like me could get some non-tech miles in the saddle before hitting the twisty, forested single-track.

If anyone out there on the Left Coast wants a change of scenery and a nice challenge, come out to the East Coast and try out the Off-Road Assault on Mt. Mitchell.

Here's some video from last year's ORAMM.
