I'll look into this next year and possibly do a few crit races this year depending on how I feel after the Tuesday Over the Hump race. I'm already racing the series so no going back. i wish they would have promoted this better, i know a lot of people that drive from the IE to OC for both the great park and oTH series.
this has to be one of the worst promoting jobs I have seen though, today is the first I've heard of this and I'm pretty well informed of local stuff. I see it on the STR site too, but to little to late. If it doesn't work out, don't give up though. Try again in the fall, a lot of people don't race the latter part of both do to heat. Probably get some dates before day light savings affects the times. |

Well, I don't want to be negative and would like the series to stick. It would be nice to have something in the IE. Lots of clubs out here to draw from so good luck.
I race both and have no problem paying for a safe training ride/race. But, although a choice between types of races sounds good, I think it's going to affect overall attendance, water down competition, and splits the field. Maybe do a rotation: 1 week mtb, next week Crit. Most people are going to want to do both but won't be able to race for one series or the other if we are pigeon holed from the start. This will be safer too, as the crew can be focused on a single event. |

UPDATE:
We are canceling the Crit portion of this race but will still be running the MTB race. We hope to gain more interest to offer both later on. For complete details and updates please refer to www.midweekrap.com |

Anytime you folks come to NorCal, give me notice and I'll hook you up with our local time-trial practice. Check out my 40km ride. It's fast, flat, and fun. They have a 10-mi. version every 2 wks. Contact Cody for details.
