Home from Greenville (since 4pm)...cleaned the floors, washed/dried clothing, relaxing.
![]() My Dad is doing absolutely great! You would think that a change in environment would cause him to "misbehave" and take about 2wks before he "adjusted" to the new place....but, not this time. At least not yet. He's just doing wonderfully. But. I doubt this place is the one for long term. I have some serious concerns about staff, especially on weekends, that will have me & Hank looking for a new place soon. Main goal for this place was to get him out of the skilled nursing stereotype..."once in skilled nursing, always in sn". not really so. Anyways....good to see him, but will be searching for a better place (staff-wise). Watching the TdF right now and looking forward to getting in some rides this week, with the somewhat cooler temps. ![]()

![]() What's positive is that you got out and did it. I woke up early enough to get to a 46-mile charity ride that I did last year, only to find that I'm still having issues with my rear brake caliper. And for the life of me, could not get the two pads to sit equidistant from the rim. ![]() Will have to take the bike to my LBS down the street to have it ready to ride by Wednesday's TT. ![]() |

We had a semi-fun tandem ride today. Only semi because the heat got me again...had nothing to offer when the captain called for power.
![]() ![]() OTOH, Mr. RR made the first cobbler of the season, and it's flat-out amazing! The peaches are just right, and the cobbler parts are just right. We'll be eating a lot of this, I suspect. Whatever peaches we don't jam/eat by Wed. will be jammed. The rest of the crop, still on the tree, we'll give to the local homeless shelter, as they're always needing fresh produce. I wish I could see a kid eating his/her first fresh peach, the juice running down her/his chin, eyes wide in the "OMG this is incredible!" revelation. I believe in sharing the bounty...if that makes me a socialist, then so be it. I think it makes me human and aligned with my beliefs -- give to those who have less than I. Cannot imagine not sharing this goodness. Now, I have to lay down, as the combination of grilled corn on the cob, homemade flatbreads with pesto & marinated tomato fillings and cobbler and wine have reduced me to a bloated food coma. *thunk* *falls onto floor with a full belly*
