She came out to cheer me & the other teammates today; she's sore but in good spirits.

Redemption!
We stayed to watch other teammates race, and the Pros -- so impressive! I'm inspired to find a way to keep this inspiration so that next Jan., when it's cold and miserable, I'll keep up my training so I can do this again.

Rode up to Dawson Saddle yesterday. Clipped in at 6:56 am. It was so nice up on AC, with little morning car traffic, and temps in the low 70's, with a cool, marine breeze. I didnt see any other cyclists on the way up. After Newcomb's, traffic really thinned out. I had planned on riding to Grassy Hollow, but I came close to running out of water-- for some reason I was extra thirsty. I turned around at Dawson. I drank three glasses of coke and ate my jersey burrito at Newcomb's on the return. Even Newcomb's wasn't very crowded, and I was served immediately by the bartender. What a great day!

IMO When it reads 103 degrees in the shade in your own backyard the only place to ride your bike is along the ocean. I rode from the Malibu Bluffs north 31.5 miles in head winds and turned around and rode back with a tail wind. It was hot out for being along the ocean, but the winds keep it in check.
I feel a little drained like I have not recovered so I am not riding tomorrow. I will rest for my century ride on Saturday: The Legacy Century: Ride the Ranch 2012. 62.7 miles; 1,795 feet

Aaaaaargh!!!!! Got up super early to get to work by 6:30 am, so I could stop at 4:30 pm. The plan was to change in the office, drive to the trail, and roll by 5:00 pm. I did it last Wednesday, and I had a great time.
So I'm very busy all day, the only thing making it worse is that I'll be out of the office tomorrow all day. And the work and the things that I must do before I leave keeps piling up...it never ends. Left the office around 5:30 to get home. Sure, I could have tried to go for my ride, even a short one...but I was toast! I sure hate this! |

Local TT practice tonight. Some pro women & men were there, for a practice before Sunday's 18 mi. TT. I'm getting slower and am not happy.
