Two SoCal RiderS rode to my house today for a 7 a.m. clip-in. We rode Big-T to AFH to Clear Creek. From about 8:30 a.m. on we found ourselves in scattering rain. It was actually enjoyable and a prefect riding temperature, full overcast no sun. We all pushed through Big-T hard and I dawdled on AFH while the other two push on to Clear Creek.
At Clear Creek we decided riding up to Red Box was not wise as the rain was just enough to coat the road and the bike tire. I asked another biker coming from that direction if it was raining at Red Box and he said he did not go that far because the rain was not letting up. We descended AC in the scattered showers and decided to ride over to the Rose Bowl for a couple of laps, three. The showers continued but were light enough that the roads were not unsafe. It was quite nice. There were a number of people running and bicycling at the Rose Bowl but none as full out as we were doing. After three laps it was time to go and off we went to were else; the Coffee Bean. It was a real treat to have two of my riding friends with me today. Riding with these young bucks really makes you work hard. Good times today. 71.5 miles; 4,701 feet

Commute number 20 for 2012, adding another 29 miles to the odometer. A few drops of rain in the morning but nothing in the afternoon ride. Nice that it wasn't 105 degrees for a change!

Went out to do some hill training and discovered my legs had a different idea.
 So it became 17 miles of not caring and just riding because I love it.

Today was much better. I had a so much fun that I lost about 10 miles in the middle of the ride, just letting my mind wander.
