It was as good as can be expected I suppose.
Did not get home Friday night till after midnight, had a tough drive back - I think the xanax contributed to the sleepiness I had. Took another xanax sometime Saturday morning and I think it knocked me out - napped on hte couch for almost 2hr, up and did a bit of running around, then back home. Did not really feel like doing much, so I hopped on facebook and my daughter and I talked & toasted her PawPaw.  Today, I met my cousin & his wife for brunch, came home and got yesterday's mail...I had 2 cards from work, signed by everyone. That took the wind out of my sails and now, I'm in the dumps again.  Maybe I can get out of them shortly and do some flower bed work...I'm also checking out prices for flights to Australia. That's where my cousin lives and has lived for 40yr probably. My Dad always wanted to visit but said he would go when he could drive there. I've always wanted to visit. It's time to stop putting things off - I'm going to most likely go next March or April (Fall) and I think I shall take some ashes and spread them so that Dad finally gets to Australia. Hell, maybe I'll like it so much, I move too. I will definitely have an updated resume to take with me.

What to do today? Hot and muggy outside....too late to ride..Pool? Beach? Veg?
edited: pool with DD. Barely ever got out of the water in a few hours..now I'm completely prunified.

Aww, Wolfie, your plans for Pop 'Pack's ashes sound awesome. Machka, a Canadian now Aussie, from (ahem) another forum, might be able to give you some pointers if you're serious about moving.
Meanwhile, the roller coaster of emotions will continue, so buckle up. You never "get over" a parent's death, but you do learn how to deal with it, and over time, you won't be so quick to tears. Or not. YMMV.

Had so much fun today that the pain of the hill at the end of the ride was no problem. After so many solo rides it was great riding with the group. Of course, the tandem rides are the best, but Mr. RR was called to work, else he would've been there, too.
Had a Moylans Hopsickle triple hops beer for my ARB* and it did the trick. Never thought I'd crave a hoppy beer, but I've gone to the dark side, and after a long, hot ride I want something to quench the thirst. Now to come up with dinner...  *Adult Recovery Beverage

Evening....spent a couple days with my Dad.
We went fishing and ate out a lot. I probably gained back all the weight I had lost a couple weeks ago. I know my blood sugars were horrid during the last 2 days. Oh well, the weekend's over....time to get ready for next week.

Gotta love time spent doing something fun with your parents.
Mine are both gone, and we had no fun things in common, but our son rides with us, and our daughter keeps our taste buds engaged, so I think they're doing for us what you do for your dad, MV. Enjoy that family time...you never know when you won't have it.

Back at work...finding it a little hard to focus, but maybe that's cause I got here at 6:15am and I really don't know what I need to work on....
Non-work related, I have phone calls to make today to several places and inform of my Dad's passing. I will be so damn glad when I am done with all of this. But, it may be October or November before I am done - longest thing might be probate of will since it has to be done in SC. Anyways, I have the meds with me and I think I will call the doctor today or tomorrow and see about getting more. I'm sure the holidays are going to be a sad time. Daddy is gone and Kyle will be in Khandahar (sp?). He's leaving before Christmas and will be gone for 9 months. Oh well. This too, shall pass.
