in 2009 we did it in four days...... it can be done in three....
2009... Van Nuys to Mojave-78 miles Mojave to Lone Pine-114 miles Lone Pine to Bishop- 59 miles Bishop to Mammoth- 46 miles 2012... first two days are the same.... really no way around that day three would be straight through from lone pine to mammoth. the stretch from LP to bishop is fllllllaaaaaaat, was over before we knew it. then again we were also VERY fortunate with the wind(was mostly a tailwind...), but it was hot(we did it the second week of july and it was typically right at 100 by the time we finished riding each day)! an amazing ride though. sunrise over red rock canyon.... cruising along the eastern sierra.... climbing through the aspens up near rock creek....

Besides the back to back to back that sounds very dobale and you just bring money for food and room and then you meet someone at Mammoth to take you back.
I think we should set up a group ride through 120 when it is open to bikes only this year? |

You should also get out and try some of the local training rides. Up here in northern LA County, Montrose is easiest. Next hardest is Rose Bowl (when in season), followed by Simi Ride (in January) as the hardest. We've done all three, so let us know, we'd be happy to help you through the paces. I also think I remember meeting you once or twice (name sounds familiar). Maybe on a SFVBC ride? Mon AM or Wed AM ride? |

Almost at the end of the third quarter. So far, I've managed to do #5 and almost accomplished #3 at the last TT of the season (just six seconds off!
). I may yet get in #'s 6, 9, and 10.1) Earn enough points to move to women's road Cat 3. 2) Win one road race. 3) New personal best at TT. 4) AT of 205W. 5) Maintain current weight. 6) Ride my first century. 7) Stay with the lead pack for an entire metric. 8) Hang on at the local Orr Road crit practice for more than two laps (yeah, right ).9) Do one cyclocross race (either January or post-road-season). 10) Get in some training rides in the NC mountains. 11) Do one MTB race before end of year. How's everyone else doing? ![]() |
