Birthday ride today, on the tandem, with a friend from Wolfpack's & Vega Vixen's neck of the woods. Just what I wanted!
 On one's birthday, one should get what one wants. just sayin'...

Almost hit by a school bus on commute home. Jeez... It was turning right onto my road while I went straight. I have no idea how it didn't see me: everybody else at the stop sign did. A school bus!!

Rode into work this AM. Windy even then. Out of the north, so when I rode west, I had a nice cross-wind with gusts. Still windy this afternoon. If bad, I may just ride straight home (6-miles) instead of extending it 2 hours.

Feelin' guilty right now: I only did about 35-miles (SFVBC Sunday ride + to/from start). For the past couple weeks, AJ & I have been riding with some friends out of Moorpark, logging ~70 miles or so. But after yesterday's Simi Ride, my legs were fried, so I stayed short. Group upped the pace on Valley Vista along south side of SFV, so that hurt a bit. But it helped open up my legs and I'm sure tomorrow I'll be feeling fine.

Lovely day for a ride with a small group -- 8 of us double-pacelining and having a blast. The biggest hill I hit was the I-505 overpass.
 The sprint toward the end is what did me in. I was redlining when I caught the two guys who started it -- damn, that was fun!

Squeezed in a quick ride this morning as the next storm approached. Beat the wind and the rain.
 And it really smelled autumnal out there...love that.

Post-rain ride this morning, short & fast, punctuated by the scent of wet eucalyptus, featuring 8 hot air balloons spread out all over. My route had me chasing them down and it was interesting.

4 of us...Rock Store...Encinal to the beach, 7 miles down PCH to Latigo. Up Latigo and then back down RS. 48-1/2 miles, nearly 5200' of climbing. Wiped out for the rest of the afternoon...now gotta go eat dinner.
