I've ridden that section a lot, and it scares the crap out of me every time. Cars passing at high speed and way to many of them to eye them in my rear view mirror before they overtake me. It's even more terrifying at night. You can see your own shadow in their headlights as they approach behind you.
The good news is that it's fairly short and the passing 70 MPH traffic creates a consistent, nice little tailwind. We high-tailed it through there at 25+ MPH.

i barely know it even there, but then again i pretty much grew up in traffic. at night i could see it being a little disconcerting.
as someone who learned to group ride from racers it still hurts my brain when riders don't ride together especially on something like a century ride where the effort is more measured. groups should form instinctually as if by gravity that just pull themselves together. ride with truly good riders and the groups will form smoothly and effortlessly without a word spoken on the matter
