The ride has a route for all levels of rider from novice to expert and families are encouraged to participate. Included are fully supported aid stations, experienced SAG support, and a wonderful lunch from Big Dan the BBQ Man. A fun festival will complete the event and will include music, food, a raffle, massage and acitivites for the kids.

The century has about 3,100' of climbing with most of it in the first 40 miles. The metric has 1,800' of climbing and most of it is in the first 25 miles. The wildflowers should be out and in full bloom at the time of the ride.

I have never ridden in or around Bakersfield. How are the roads and what are are the temperatures (weather) like in April?

Normal lows are in the low 50's and highs in the mid to higher 70's. Being a rider I tried to use roads with the least amount of traffic, the best surface and great scenery. Most, if not all the roads are routes the local riders ride. Typically if there are any winds they will be tailwinds for the way home. The wildflowers and orchards should be in full bloom during the ride.

Sheesh. When I saw the Woody Century, I thought it was related to this thread:
