Hi there!!! So I'm new to bikes and I've got a little problem I've run into!
I recently bought a rokform bike mount for my iPhone (http://www.rokform.com/cart/Rokbed-v....html).However, I have a quill stem and it won't fit (it says that it has to be installed on any 1-1/8" thread-less steer tubes). I bought a different quill stem that had a cap and I thought it would work, but that didn't work either. So, I'm looking for a way to convert to the headset and stem method. I live in downtown sac, so most of the area I ride around is flat, so I'm not a super heavy rider. Mostly ride between 5-15 miles at a time. Not looking to spend more than $50 to convert it. I currently have a threaded tube, please let me know what I need! Please include links to parts if you know of any. I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense, I'm new to this so I don't know all the technical names of things. The tube is 1-1/8" here's what it looks like without the quill stem installed. http://i1265.photobucket.com/albums/...9/c0588d14.jpg And here is what it looks like with the quill stem installed (it's usually up a little higher, i just wasn't tightened in the picture). http://s1265.photobucket.com/albums/...t=dbb87132.jpg Thanks for looking! |

The picture links don't work for me.
Something like this perhaps? |

I did that (use an adapter for threadless stem) with my old Bottecchia. I bought mine from Velo Orange ( www.veloorange.com ) It is very clean looking and has quite a bit of vertical adjustability.
