Teen cyclist hit

As far as I know, he's still critical but alive.

He was hit yesterday afternoon in Monroe, about a mile from where my parents live, which only gives my father more anxiety about my own cycling, even though I never ride in such a high-traffic area.

News report here. The driver did stop (that's her black car in the pic), and so far hasn't been charged. The bicycle is visible in front of the car. Busy intersection with no crosswalk or other bike/pedestrian markings. Road here (including a left-turn lane on each side of the median) is six lanes wide, and speed limit is 45mph....
