The Montrose Ride

cuz it's not really a problem to stop at the signs after the ride, since we're only going 12 mph and it's only for a mile or so 'til we leave sierra madre. and at the bend we take paloma to ride back through pasadena, it's nice and wide and empty

I think it's part of a social phenomenon: if there's a group of people hanging around "your" town/area/neighborhood, and you're not invited, you automatically don't like them doing that. Plus, to throw more wood on the fire, people look at bicycles as kids' toys and they shouldn't be on the street, slowing down traffic, and you get escalating negative feelings.

Well John talked me into doing the montrose ride...this should be interesting where is everyone started this sat or is anyone going.

including the ride back how many miles does it usually come out to usually

If I do it, and it's a big if, it will be from the Trader Joes in South Pasadena.

From TJs, it's about 40 miles total.
