Intimidating that he did that well so quickly (although he was a marathon runner), and inspiring as he did not let age 60 be a barrier.
I am fortunate to ride with several who are over 60. Our chapter leader is 80 (and rode the 109 course at el Tour de Tucson this year), and the rider who invited me to the 300k (and the double century on the Grand Tour) is 70. They provide inspiration as well. I look forward to retirement from work as the time when I will have more time for cycling, hiking, photography, and volunteering. |
